Sabine

Sabine has run an a-typical course during the last 34 years.

In 1990 she graduates highschool as an assistant accountant.

She doesn't find a job immediately but has a very strong desire to work and accepts any job offer she receives. This introduces her to the life of a blue collar worker and she experiences what it means to work 'in shifts'.

She doesn't give up and continues to develop herself. Through educational programs organized by the VDAB, including a foreign internship in France, she keeps working on her skills. Eventually she discovers, thanks to a book, that she wants to go back to school.

In 1997 she enrolls at the Egon College and successfully obtains her professional bachelor in communication management in 3 years. Despite this fine result she is confronted with another 4 years of diffculty finding a steady job and she once again hops from job to job. This time, as a white collar employee, she is introduced to the world of administration and commercial business in various contexts and environments. Until finally she gets a chance to function in a steady organisation.

Since 2004 she's employed at Ghent University. First as a replacement for a maternity leave, followed by 3,5 years as an international coordinator within development cooperation and since 2007 as department secretary. During these years she learns how to fully develop her administrative, coordination, organisational and operational skills.

But something kept bothering her ever since she got her bachelor degree. What if she had chosen a university education?

In 2016 she decides to find the answer to that question and she enrolls for a master in communication sciences at Ghent University as a working student. She combines her fulltime job with her studies and successfully obtains her degree in 2021.

Meanwhile, she had also continuously worked on developping her English skills since 1997 through daily contacts and interactions with people from all over the world. And through a lot of reading. Both within the context of the University as well as during her free personal time where she has been a member of various societies with English as the unifying language. Today, Sabine can confidently call herself a Native Speaker.

In 2022 she adds a post-graduate inspirational coaching to her repertoire and in 2023 she launches her side business, sd.Ki-Consult. Her goal at the time was two-fold. On one hand she wanted to help small business owners using her many years of experience within office, administration and communication. And on the other hand she wanted to utilize her passion and natural talents as a coach and mentor to help people with their personal development.

In 2024 she decides to split the two apart, following the advice of befriended experts on the matter. She launches the practice KiZend and steps in to her role as decision mentor, to help guide and assist people struggling with decision anxiety.
